Located 85 miles from Charlotte International Airport, Blue Ridge Mountain Club is just 1.5 miles from the legendary Blue Ridge Parkway and 6 miles from both the charming village of Blowing Rock and the bustling university town of Boone. Proximity to these authentic small towns and an exceptionally temperate micro-climate – mild winters, gorgeous springs, cool summers, and spectacular falls – are a big part of why BRMC is considered to have the best location of any new community in the High Country. Blowing Rock

Minutes away, Blue Ridge Mountain Club's closest neighbor is the scenic, romantic, and genuine small town of Blowing Rock. A tiny three square miles in size, Blowing Rock nonetheless boasts a mind-boggling hundred shops or more, two-dozen restaurants, nearly twenty inns and hotels, and a thriving Main Street. BRMC's close ties to Blowing Rock color day-to-day living, providing a rich, secondary cultural destination for residents, and a ready neighbor to share in larger community events and celebrations. Boone

As close to BRMC as Blowing Rock and named for legendary frontiersman Daniel Boone, the town of Boone has been labeled the “ultimate outdoor adventure destination” by travel journalists and listed in multiple editions of “The 100 Best Small Towns in America.”  Boone is home to the recently expanded Watauga Medical Center (part of the Appalachian Regional Healthcare System); scores of large and small businesses; commercial shopping malls carrying groceries, electronics, and home supplies; as well as an impressive array of restaurants, boutique shops, and cultural events, many of which are part of the Appalachian Summer Festival.

Boone is also home to Appalachian State University, with a student body of over 17,000 and growing, which offers outstanding academic opportunities, and free tuition for residents over the age of 65. Blue Ridge Mountain Club is a proud supporter of App State Mountaineers football!

Blue Ridge Parkway

Long hailed as “America’s Favorite Drive,” the Blue Ridge Parkway is the only road with National Park status in America. A protected habitat for a great diversity of flora and fauna, an icon of American progress and ingenuity, and a gateway to charming communities seemingly frozen in time, the Parkway connects Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina. This intensely scenic drive is a regular highlight of life at Blue Ridge Mountain Club. Click here for more on the 75th anniversary celebrations of this National treasure.
