The Gobbler 5K

As an avid runner, I love nothing more than the feeling of my feet hitting the ground in a fast run. The pounding of my heart deep in my chest, the cool November wind reddening my cheeks; it’s as though in that moment I am completely isolated from the rest of the world, grounded, at peace with myself. Looking for a reason to run; well that’s something I do quite often so I was more than delighted to see ACT’s (Appalachian and the Community Together) first annual Gobbler 5K. The race is this Saturday, November 19th at 7:00 am. All proceeds will benefit ACT’s scholarship for international service-learning named after late ASU student Leigh Lane Edwards.
