Skiing & Snowboarding
Our two favorite peaks for alpine skiing and snowboarding are Appalachian Ski Mountain and Sugar Mountain. Celebrating 50 years, App State Ski is home to the French Swiss Ski College, the oldest and best ski college in the region, which makes this one of the best mountains for getting comfortable on the slopes. With 1,200 vertical drop and longest run of 1.5 miles, Sugar Mountain offers lots of challenging terrain for advanced skiers. Both peaks are less than an hour’s drive from BRMC’s front gate.
For a day of pure family fun in the snow, we highly recommend Hawksnest. With the largest snow tubing park on the east Coast, lanes range from 400 to 1,000 feet long. When the snow melts, Hawksnest becomes the premier destination for ziplining, with the longest zip line tour in the East.
