This home is unlike any other in Blue Ridge Mountain Club.  Aside from the spectacular long range views, it has a very unique design that encapsulates a classic, contemporary, and mountain modern aesthetic all at the same time. Everyone who has been involved with this project has left their own stamp and put a lot of love into making sure The Cliff Dweller will meet and exceed the expectations of whomever is lucky enough to call it home.

BRMC commissioned many local artisans and resources to create one of a kind architectural and decorative features.  The staircase was custom designed by WFR artist and owner Grayson Gordon, who worked hand in hand with BRMC to design, fabricate, and install this beautiful metal railing and stair risers that make the individual treads appear as if they’re floating. The treads themselves are three inches of red oak, handmade and custom fitted. WFR also created a custom, decorative, range hood that hovers over our 48” wide Thermador dual-fuel range. The fireplace hearth in the main living room and the mantle in the master bedroom are concrete with a custom finish created just for this home by Andy McDaniel and his team at BDWG Concrete Studio in Boone, NC. The mantle in the living room is made from reclaimed red oak that was salvaged from the Blowing Rock Horse Stables, which has been continually operating for nearly 100 years. In each of the three en suite guest bathrooms the counter-tops are made of black walnut by local woodworker, John Northrup, of Blowing Rock Woodworks.  It has been said over and over again how these are a favorite feature! There are so many interesting details that it is hard to choose just one.  They are spectacular, and take the design to an un-paralleled level.  Aside from these custom details, BRMC has incorporated high level design fixtures from companies such as Restoration Hardware and West Elm for many of the feature lighting elements, bath hardware and accessories.

The exterior siding and roofing is all Cedar with Douglas Fir timber framing on the porches. An engineered stone with a linear, modern look is used throughout the exterior as well as on the interior to connect visually from the outside, in. Natural stone is used to delineate a path from the driveway to the double front door. The floors are a 5” white oak stained a warm brown, not too dark, so that you can see all the beautiful grain, and has matching, inset wood vent covers that are flush with the hardwood.  In the kitchen there is an oversized farmhouse sink that overlooks the front courtyard and the counter-top is accented by a back-splash which is handmade and comes from a company called Fireclay in California, meaning no two tiles are exactly the same.  The home features an oversized two car garage as well as a third garage stall for your UTV or other toys!

This home would be the perfect place to escape to with all of your friends or host long family weekends and holiday gatherings. With three guest bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, there is plenty of room for everyone. It features three living spaces (including a space for your home theater or gym, you choose!), and a built-in bar and conditioned wine cellar.  On the main level you can relax on the covered porch right off the dining room with a built-in grilling station and cozy fire-place, or, hang out on the hot-tub ready deck off of the lower living space as well as relax with a good book or movie in front of any of the three additional interior fireplaces throughout the home.  Owning The Cliff Dweller makes it easy to “Find Your Forever” with us at Blue Ridge Mountain Club.
