Sunday afternoon my wife, dog and I went in search of our annual Christmas tree. We enjoy taking a leisurely drive on the Sunday after Thanksgiving to look for our tree. After a less than a ten minute drive, we found ourselves in the country looking at "choose and cut" trees. We are fortunate to live in North Carolina, whose Christmas Tree Industry is ranked second in the nation. North Carolina has 1,600 Christmas tree growers producing an estimated 50 million Fraser Fir Christmas trees. Fraser Fir trees represent over 90% of all species grown in North Carolina. In addition, we enjoy "choose and cut" destinations because we are able to find exactly what we are looking for and know how fresh it is. We have always found our picture-perfect tree this way and are lucky to live where we can appreciate the unbelievably great outdoors.
