Stepping Wisely with Wishon & Carter's Laurel Camp

Blue Ridge Mountain Club (BRMC) prides itself on the quality of our featured builders and is pleased that they are such strong supporters of the BRMC community experience.  Wishon & Carter Builders, Inc. recently finished an amazing home on home site 1236, Laurel Camp. This past week, I had the opportunity to walk through Laurel Camp with its designer, Wishon & Carter’s, Matt Dunn. Sharing one of our cornerstone values Wishon & Carter believes in stepping wisely. “Our design is to fit into the lot, not make the lot fit our design. We leave as much as the natural habitat as possible. Laurel Camp is a great example of that because it is a small footprint with all the luxury items you would desire.” Dunn designed the Laurel Camp three years ago; Wishon & Carter was looking for the right opportunity to launch construction and left it in his arsenal until he found the perfect home site at BRMC.

The concept of the layout is one built on old fashioned family values. A camp style design, it is made with an open great room that connects the kitchen, dining, and living room into one wide open space. “So many families lack that gathering time anymore and we at Wishon and Carter believe that quality time for families is important, Laurel Camp is designed to connect families not only to each other but the great outdoors”. The design offers 20 feet of glass in its open living space to reveal the amazing views of Dugger Valley.  The interior spaces open onto a covered outdoor living area and access to the fresh mountain air. The master suite has a private covered deck with breathtaking views, a spacious walk in closet, and a luxurious private bath. With the master, laundry, and living spaces all on the main floor, the home is designed for one level living if you wish, but the lower level offers so many desirable options, including two guest suites and an excellent entertaining space with a walk out where you can easily access the Dugger Creek Trail.  With all of these features using both floors is a must!

Another one of many unique aspects of the home is that it is conveniently located within walking distance of Watson Gap Village which allows the buyer the option for short term rentals in the future. As an added incentive for potential buyers, Wishon and Carter Builders, Inc. are also offering a one-year leaseback.
